The question "how are you" typically generates a generic response for a number of reasons including that it is a small talk question and how personal the answer might be if it is answered genuinely. Many of us assume that the person asking this simple question does not care for a detailed answer especially if it is laced with negativity.
For this project, I sent out the statement, "Hi! How are you?" on a social media site. Along with that question, I added further encouragement to be as concise or detailed as the respondent desired. I took the four responses I received and created a drawing from them out of a set of rules and guidelines I determined before the statement was sent out. The drawing is thus I dissection of their response and an honest and possibly conversational response to each piece of it.
