![Picture](/uploads/8/3/5/7/8357524/7221127.jpg?338)
acrylic on canvas
20" w x 24" h
completed at Pullen Park in Raleigh. The first song was repeated 37 songs after it was initially played, which meant a painting duration of roughly 2 hours and 51 minutes.
Each song was used for inspiration for the duration of its air time. A single color (red, yellow, or blue and their respective values) was devoted to each song. At the conclusion of the song, the canvas was rotated 90 degrees and the next color in the cycle was used for the subsequent song. Any commercial breaks were used to clean brushes.
Photographs were taken after each cycle of the three primary colors had been used (i.e every three songs). The only exception is the final photograph, because it was taken after the repeated song (#1 and #38).

How you can be involved!By reading this or watching the video, you are aware of the painting project and automatically involved in its making. You have choices for your involvement:
You can call (919) 860-1051 or go to http://www.g105.com to request a song.
You can also do nothing and leave the time frame for the painting solely up to the repetitive nature of top 40 radio stations. |
You can check out the "Repeated 21 Songs Later" drawing to see something that I have done before that is similar in nature
G105 is in no way affiliated with this project or this artist. The mention of the station is merely to allow viewers of this website and video to interact with the performance of the artmaking.
